STUDIO 5: narrm (MELBOURNE)
PROJECT: STUDIO 5,
NARRM (MELBOURNE)
CORE PARTNERS: GATES FOUNDATION, Fondation CHANEL
The Brief
Born out of the backsliding of women and girls’ rights in a rapidly changing world, Studio 5 is a brand new initiative for gender equality created by Project Everyone. Launched over three days alongside the Women Deliver conference in Narrm (Melbourne), the initiative brought a dynamic network of partners together to bring an impactful programme of events to life.
Set in an intentionally curated space, Studio 5 gave space to identify and propel the levers of change that will bring the most progress as quickly as possible for women and girls across the world, and, as a result, for everyone, everywhere.
The Approach
INSPIRATION
Moving beyond traditional conference formats, Studio 5 blended strategy with creativity to reimagine what’s possible – and help to build it. The programme spanned sharing circles, roundtables, intimate dinners, nightcaps and sound baths, all designed to amplify feminist solutions, spark collaboration and sustain momentum for gender equality in the post-2030 era.
- Key Themes Included:
Financing gender-based violence prevention. - Peace and power through the lens of First Nations women’s knowledge.
- AI and women’s health.
- Addressing sexual violence as a public health crisis.
- The role of storytelling in driving equality.
- Self-care for those working on the front lines of gender equality.
From First Nations artists to local women- and impact-led partners, the space itself was designed to reflect the values and mission of Studio 5. The identity of Studio 5 was created by Janelle Burger, a Noongar and Italian illustrator, as part of a series of paintings and patterns using soft, organic shapes that feel calm and fluid. Drawing inspiration from the colours, forms, textures, and patterns found in Australian landscapes, Janelle aimed to create a space that feels gentle, human and connected.
It was a total joy to work with Studio 5 at Women Deliver- I was seriously impressed by the team’s strategic and creative thinking, by their commitment to providing an incomparable experience for their participants, and by their orientation towards the big picture and the details- could not recommend them more highly!
